You probably think I am about to complain about a neighbor's dog who barks all night, but that's not it at all. You know you live on the California coast when the barking you hear out your bedroom window comes from seals, not dogs. We have yet to find the seals that live around here, but we hear them frequently. I'm guessing they must live in the harbor that is about 100 yds from our house, but we've also heard they live at the end of the jetti that is about three or four hundred yds away. We may need to do some exploring. I just find this amusing so I thought I'd share.
