Our Little Cupcake

We had Callie's 1st birthday party yesterday afternoon, and it was great! We invited our friends who know and love Callie. We had 15 people, including us, and I think it was the perfect amount for a 1st birthday. Callie wasn't overwhelmed, and I think she had fun. We had a cupcake theme so we had strawberry and chocolate cupcakes and a few appetizers. Very simple but fun!

Here's the birthday girl!
(Her dress was quite big on her, but she was precious in it!)
Her dress was the inspiration for the party theme. I'm glad she'll be able to wear it for a long time!

We were so glad that Paw Paw and Gramma Susie could be here for this special day!

Katie and Chris helped celebrate with us. Katie is Callie and I's walking partner, and we will miss her when we move! Chris is Charlie's corps buddy, who has been out here in CA the whole time we've been out here.

Charlie is telling an aminated story (Surprise!) while Paw Paw, Erin and Jill listened.

We made an artichoke dip, sausage pinwheels and peach jalapeno cream cheese appetizer. I wanted to keep it simple, but it was all delicious!
Some friends had fun decorating their cupcakes. Their dad appreciated all the sugar that we let them take home. :)
We sang "Happy Birthday" twice because we forgot to video it the first time. :)
She liked us singing to her!
We had to help her get started. Charlie gave her a big bite of icing first. She shuttered from the sweetness, but she enjoyed the strawberry cake!
She ate about half of it then wanted nothing to do with it. She had had enough sweetness!
The cleanup was a two man job!
My sweet girl is growing up fast!
Daddy enjoyed a cupcake too...or was it 3?
Callie got some great gifts! Adorable clothes, books and markers (We'll hold on to them for a little while.), but of course, she was more interested in the tissue paper and glittery cards! Thanks to everyone for the fun gifts!
Callie loves her Baby. She only sucks her thumb when holding her.

Thanks again to everyone for celebrating this special occasion with our little girl! A huge thanks to Mike and Susan for making the party happen!

(I have no idea why the pictures won't center. Oh well!)
